DIGITAL NIGHT VISION: How It Works

Digital night vision (Digital NVG) is a technology that enhances visibility in low-light or dark environments using a digital sensor instead of traditional image intensifier tubes.

It works by capturing available light (including infrared) with a digital camera sensor, then processing and displaying the image on an electronic screen. Unlike analog night vision, which amplifies light through a chemical process, digital night vision converts light into electronic signals, allowing for enhancements like zoom, recording, and different display modes (black and white, color, thermal overlays, etc.).

While digital night vision tends to have lower performance in extreme darkness compared to high-end analog night vision, it offers affordable, durable, longer lifespan, and the ability to function in daylight without damage.
